There will always be people who have it worse. Hell, there are kids in developing countries who don’t have doors and who eat once every 3 days. Responding with “other people have it worse” only invalidates what someone is going through, it does not make them feel any better.

This word play is made to be used on someone being overhysterical or crying over spilled milk. Not someone going through something tough
So in reality you are not blaming the word play but the people using it.
Then you got the people who’d rather drown in their depression.. if you got a problem, you fix it and move on.. it’s called life
