If I accidentally say a swear word when I drop my phone, I’m not a bad person. The attitude that swearing is bad is stupid because there just no reason to hate certain words that show anger. Racially based swear words are bad, and I understand not wanting to use sexual words in a conversation, but if I say anything vaguely “rude” when I’m surprised or angry, I don’t mean it in a bad way. This also extends to jokingly swearing around friends, who get that in angry, joking, or want to make a point.

It’s not a religious thing either, because apart from using certain words relating to deities, no religious text as far as I know explicitly mentions swearing as bad.
