Our Top Picks

Best Overall: Smartish Gripzilla – Armor Case for iPhone 11

Smartish iPhone 11 Pro Armor Case

What We Like

  • Gripped edges make it easy to hold and use

  • Great value for money

What We Don’t Like

  • Limited Colors

The Gripzilla is a fantastic, budget-friendly option that doesn’t sacrifice quality. It’s a sturdy case with gripped edges, making it easy to hold, and it’s built-in air cushions provide additional protection against accidental drops. It is compatible with wireless charging and offers comprehensive protection that you wouldn’t expect from such an inexpensive case. It’s one of the most ergonomically friendly cases we tried, and it would be easy for this case to quickly become your go-to for everyday use.

It’s available in a range of colors, although screen protection is not included. Overall, it’s a great case that punches above its weight and compliments the iPhone 11 well.

Runner-Up, Best Overall: OtterBox Phone 11 Defender Series Screenless Edition Case

What We Like

  • One of the most solid and reliable cases on the market for iPhone protection

  • Rubber non-slip grips are easy to hold

What We Don’t Like

  • The thick, bulky case takes away from the look of the iPhone 11

The OtterBox is a well-known brand when it comes to smartphone protection, and the Defender case certainly lives up to its name. Your iPhone 11 is safe in the three-piece case, consisting of an inner and outer shell and an optional belt holster. Flexible port covers keep your charging port and headphone jacks safe from dust or debris, and the solid polycarbonate and rubber case will keep your phone safe from falls and drops. It provides great peace of mind if you’re often hiking or outdoors.

However, the case can be a bit fiddly to assemble and doesn’t slip on and off as quickly as some other cases. There’s also no denying that it’s built for protection, not style, and is somewhat bulky. It does add some weight to the otherwise slim and sleek iPhone 11.

Best Official Apple Case: Apple Silicone Case (iPhone 11)

What We Like

  • Apple’s official case offers the sleek silicone feel we love and doesn’t add much weight or bulk to the phone

What We Don’t Like

  • Expensive for what is essentially a simple silicone case

  • Limited colors available currently

If you prefer everything Apple, then the company’s official case may be for you. The soft and smooth silicone feels great to the touch and the case is simple but effective. Wrapping around the back of the phone, it accentuates and protects the iPhone 11 without taking away from its design. It’s essentially the same silicone case Apple has been offering for years, so users updating to the iPhone 11 shouldn’t expect any new surprises in this version.

Still, it’s an aesthetically pleasing case that Apple aficionados will love. Considering adding a screen protector, as this isn’t included. Note that this case is thin and may wear over time.

Best Wallet: Bella Fino Edition Leather iPhone 11 Case

What We Like

  • Made from quality leather with professional craftsmanship

  • Plenty of space for bank cards and cash

What We Don’t Like

  • Wallet closure is via an elastic strap, rather than magnets.

If you’re after a quality leather wallet that doubles as an iPhone case, the Bella Fino Edition Leather iPhone 11 Case is a great choice. Made by Pad & Quill, a brand known for its top-notch leather goods, this unisex wallet is a durable and stylish choice for a combined wallet and case.

Although pricey, it’s made from full-grain American leather and has space for up to seven cards and/or cash, yet still doesn’t feel overly full when used at capacity. It allows for wireless charging and comes in a range of subdued color combinations. The wallet is kept closed via an elastic strap, which some may find inconvenient.

Runner-Up, Best Wallet: Nomad Rugged Tri-Folio

What We Like

  • Tri-fold wallet means plenty of storage space, without feeling overly full or bulky

  • A quality leather product that ages well over time

What We Don’t Like

  • The wallet doesn’t include a strap or magnet for closure

The Nomad Rugged Tri-Folio offers an iPhone case complete with a three-fold wallet, offering more storage space and cardholders than the average bi-fold wallet. Despite its larger size, it doesn’t feel too thick and it could easily replace your current wallet. Two large pockets for cash, business cards, and notes, plus four deep card slots mean plenty of space.

Made from rich leather that ages well over time, you’re left with a vintage look that will appeal to many. The wallet doesn’t have a magnet or elastic strap to remain closed, which may be a nuisance, but if this doesn’t bother you, then the Tri-Folio is the perfect choice.

Best for Selfies: iPhone 11 Otter + Pop Symmetry Series Case

What We Like

  • OtterBox brand is known for durability and protection, and this case delivers

  • One of the first phone cases to build a PopGrip into the product

What We Don’t Like

  • It only really appeals to PopGrip fans

PopGrips have soared in popularity in recent years, a temporary solution to the issue of keeping grips on a slippery iPhone. OtterBox is one of the first companies to release a durable phone case with a built-in PopGrip, an ingenious solution to the problem of your PopGrip popping off.

The case is solid and offers the protection you’d expect from an OtterBox case, and the PopGrips easily screw into the back of the case, a big improvement from adhesives or suction used previously. They can also be changed if you like the variety of different looks. The PopGrips make it easier to take selfies, talk on the phone, or text but aren’t to everyone’s liking. PopGrips are the main selling point of this case- if you’re not likely to use that feature, consider another OtterBox product like the Defender or Commuter series.

Best Translucent: LifeProof Next Case for iPhone 11

Courtesy of Best Buy

What We Like

  • It’s a clear, thin case that doesn’t sacrifice function for form

  • Protects against two-meter falls, snow, and dirt

What We Don’t Like

  • Expensive

The LifeProof Next is a great choice for someone who wants to protect their new investment without sacrificing the minimalist and modern look of the iPhone. The Next is a clear case, allowing the iPhone to remain on display, but its see-through rubber casing does not sacrifice protection and will safeguard your phone from falls up to two meters, as well as from snow, dust, and dirt. The rubber edging comes in a range of colors, and the case itself comes in two parts, requiring assembly.

It’s an expensive model, but the Next is one of the few clear phone cases that can also add serious resilience to the fragile iPhone 11.

Best Protection: UAG Pathfinder Series iPhone 11 Case

What We Like

  • Military-grade drop protection from an extremely lightweight case

  • Tactile buttons make it easy to use, especially in low light

What We Don’t Like

  • Camouflage inspired color choices

UAG’s Pathfinder series offers serious protection in a featherweight case. Although the industrial look of the case, offered in military-themed colors, may not appeal to some, the case is one of the best at protecting your phone without adding much extra weight. UAG claims to meet military drop-test standards, and it’s also compatible with Apple Pay and wireless charging.

The case comes in two parts, so removal is not as quick as with some other phones. It also comes at a higher price point which might put off some buyers. However, it’s a solid choice for anyone worried about damaging their phone, especially someone who plans on doing a lot of adventure sports or hiking with their phone in tow.

Best Budget: Speck Presidio Pro

What We Like

  • A classic, unpretentious case that provides great drop protection

  • Wide range of colors

  • A similar option to Apple’s Silicone case, but at a lower price

What We Don’t Like

  • Can become slippery over time

Speck’s Presidio Pro is an unassuming case that protects against drops from up to 13 feet with its built-in antimicrobial protection. It’s a slim case that provides reliable security for your phone, and the smooth silicone is pleasing to touch, although users report that it can become slippery with prolonged use.

The case is all in one piece, making removal or application very easy. Offered in a range of upbeat colors, it’s a quality product that delivers everything you want in a case, with no unnecessary bells or whistles.
